Compulsory Module 13: Linguistics and Analysis (5 ECTS-Credits,5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 6
Learning Outcome: Students of the compulsory module "Linguistics and Analysis" have mastered the basics of language-specific linguistics and thus the ability to analyse, understand and explain language utterances based on the basic rules of grammar. The analysis includes both formal and functional aspects. Besides of the mastery of grammatical terminology, the students begin to reflect on the foreign language they are studying. Students also get an overview of the different fields of linguistics with special consideration of the studied language and are able to independently work with specialist linguistic
literature.
Compulsory Module 14: Advanced Topics in French Linguistics 1 (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 13
Learning Outcome: Dealing with the different contents of the course in a contrastive-linguistic way enables the students to acquire in-depth knowledge of the respective fields and to develop a contrastive awareness of language structures and norms of the French language with regards to using this knowledge for language teaching. They are able to explain the specific features of French in a linguistically correct and understandable way to language learners. By dealing with thematically-relevant literature students advance their knowledge of the subject areas of this module.
Compulsory Module 15: Advanced Topics in French Linguistics 2 (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 13
Learning Outcome: Dealing with the different contents of the course in a contrastive-linguistic way enables the students to acquire in-depth knowledge of the respective fields and to develop a contrastive awareness of language structures and norms of the French language with regards to using this knowledge for language teaching. They are able to explain the specific features of French in a linguistically correct and understandable way to
language learners and are able to consider phenomena of language acquisition. By dealing with thematically-relevant literature students advance their knowledge of the
subject areas of this module.
Compulsory Module 16: Linguistics: Independent Study (10 ECTS-Credits, 1 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students acquire in-depth knowledge of French linguistics by independent reading and are able to participate in discussions on linguistic problems.
