Elective Module 1: Religion - Violence - Communication - World-Order (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 1.
Learning Outcome: Familiarising students with the basic questions and working forms of dramatic and communicative theology in the context of the current research focus of the faculty (RGWK); the specialised encounter in respect of the profile and productive tensions between the approaches and their further development into one single approach.
Elective Module 2: Synagogue and Churches (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 1.
Learning Outcome: Awareness of the establishment of Jesus and of the Church in among the Jewish people and the growing consequences of this for Christian theology; perception of the historical interfaces between Judaism and Christianity from a political, theological socio-cultural and (church) legal perspectives. Awareness of the mutual development of the Christian Jewish relationship and also of the increasing differentiation of Christianity.
Elective Module 3: Christian Understanding of Human Beings and Naturalism (10 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 1.
Learning Outcome: Ability to deal with the naturalism debate.
Elective Module 4: Bible Greek (10 ECTS-Credits, 8 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Knowledge of the language basics (vocabulary and grammar) to translate simple to quite difficult texts of the Bible or of historical literature and philosophical texts of Antiquity from Greek into German, basic knowledge of important historical, literary and cultural factors using texts. The module qualifies students to take the compulsory module of exegesis of the Old Testament and exegesis of the New Testament and historical enhancement in the Master's Programme of Catholic Pedagogy.
Elective Module 5: Compulsory Schools I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 8 h)

Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory modules 1, 13 and 14.
Learning Outcome: Getting to know the framework conditions and basic subject-didactic competences to teach religion in primary schools, secondary modern schools and New Middle Schools. The module qualifies students to take the elective in Higher Schools in the Master's Study Programme in the Catholic Religious Pedagogy Study Programme of the University of Innsbruck.
Elective Module 6: Compulsory Schools II (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory modules 1 and 14.
Learning Outcome: Enhancement of the necessary subject knowledge to teach religion in compulsory schools. The module qualifies students to take the selective Higher Schools in the Master's Study Programme of the Catholic Religious Pedagogy Study Programme.
Elective Module 7: Communicative Formation, Counselling and Pastoral Care I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)

Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory modules 1, 13 and 14.
Learning Outcome: Enhancement of the basic religious pedagogical and pastoral competences to lead and accompany (extracurricular) educational and pastoral care processes. The module qualifies students to take the enhancement module in Communicative Education, Counselling and Pastoral Care in the Master's Study Programme of Catholic Religious Pedagogy.
Elective Module 8: Communicative Formation, Counselling and Pastoral Care II (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory modules 1, 13 and 14.
Learning Outcome: Enhancement of the religious, pedagogical and basic pastoral competences needed to lead and accompany the educational and pastoral care processes of the religious (extracurricular) educational and pastoral care processes. The module qualifies towards completion of the elective Communicative Education, Counselling and Pastoral Care in the Master's Study Programme Catholic Religious Pedagogy.
