Elective Modules (40 ECTS-Credits)
(2) Elective modules covering 40 ECTS-Credits must be passed, at least 20 ECTS-Credits of which must be selected from a foreign language in a fashion to promote the acquisition or advancing of language skills of one and the same language (Russian, English, Italian, French or Spanish). These Credits can either be passed with elective modules 1-18 or by passing modules in Comparative Literature at another foreign-language university (Russian-, English-, Italian-, French- or Spanish-language university).

Elective Module 3: Command of the Russian Language II (10 ECTS-Credits, 8 SSt.) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of elective module 2
Learning Outcome: Independent use of language; understanding of key points of long, complex oral and written texts; increasing language awareness in the fields of grammar, stylistics and pragmatics (level: B1/B2)
Elective Module 19: Language Course 1 (5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Language skills corresponding to the respective course level
One or several different language courses covering 5 ECTS-Credits can be passed.
Elective Module 20: Language Course 2 (5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Language skills corresponding to the respective course level
One or several different language courses covering 5 ECTS-Credits can be passed.
Elective Module 21: Fundamentals of Lingustics (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Overview of basic concepts and methods of linguistics and language analysis; awareness of the complexity of language utterances, increasing of language awareness; introduction to questions of applied linguistics
Elective Module 27: Practice 1 (5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students can apply the knowledge and skills gained in the study programme in practice. Having completed this module students know about the conditions in the professional and/or scientific world.
Students of the Bachelor¿s Programme Comparative Literature can gain practical experience corresponding to 5 ECTS-Credits (or 120 hours resp.) to apply their knowledge and skills gained in the programme, to learn about the world of work and to acquire additional qualifications. The practical experience can also be made during the lecture-free periods. It is recommended to make the experience abroad. Before starting the practical experience it must be approved by the Director of Studies. The practical experience module can be passed in institutions acc. to §1 para. 4. Duration, extent and contents of the tasks must be confirmed by the institution. Moreover, a report must be written. Elective modules 27 and 28 can be made in the same institution (to an extent of altogether 10 ECTS-Credits or 240 hours).

Prerequisites for registration: none
