Compulsory Module 14: Translatorics I First Foreign Language (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 5
Learning Outcome: Basic competences in written translation: competence to analyse the source text as required for the translation and to undertake research; decision-making and evaluation competences and argumentation competences to substantiate the solutions found
Compulsory Module 15: Translatorics II First Foreign Language (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 14
Learning Outcome: Translation competence in the language pair with focus on functional and text-type-
appropriate translation and in consideration of specific cultural aspects; independent use
of current professional working tools and translation Technologies
Compulsory Module 16: Translatorics III First Foreign Language (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 15
Learning Outcome: Use of the acquired translation competence for translating complex texts (with regards to content and language) of different text types in the language pair; consolidation of decision-making and evaluation competences and of argumentation competence to substantiate the translation solutions found and use of current working tools and translation technologies
Compulsory Module 17: Translatorics IV First Foreign Language (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 15
Learning Outcome: Basic competences in oral translation; knowledge of the most important strategies for using
the short-term memory and for consolidating interpretation-specific aspects of
conversational culture;
Compulsory Module 18: Exam Project (2.5 ECTS-Credits, 1 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 15
Learning Outcome: Methodical and theoretical knowledge for targeted dealing with prototypical problems of translation; The students are able to process real translation orders and to reflect on their own translation work.
