Module 18: Advanced: American Literary Studies (12.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory modules 3 and 16.
Learning Outcome: Overview of the development of North American literature from the beginnings to the present; familiarity with various literary genres and major works; insights into the development of American literature, including intellectual, social and political aspects, with special attention to ethnic literature; treatment of selected works and themes of American literature.
