Learning Outcome: Students are put in the position of leading small excavation areas themselves and of explaining research problems on-site as well as deciding on materials to be used.

Learning Outcome: The aim is to achieve competence in the subject, to help lead an excavation, and to carry out the scientific documentation of the on-site findings and results.

Learning Outcome: Acquisition of a well-founded basic knowledge and enhanced knowledge of the provinces of the Roman Empire and of the neighboring peoples of the Romans to the East.
