Learning Outcome: Development of an understanding of the contents of politics in its different forms; acquisition of orientation and overview knowledge for developing political competences (decision-making and judgement competence) and for analysing key problem fields ins in politics and society.
Compulsory Module 13: Advanced Topics: 20th/21st Century (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of Compulsory Module 1
Learning Outcome: Acquisition of skills in using historical sources and depictions of the history of the 20th / 21st centuries as well as skills to present the knowledge acquired in verbal and/or written form; acquisition of knowledge and application of relevant methods of auxiliary sciences
Compulsory Module 14: Bachelor's Thesis (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of Compulsory Modules 1, 12 and 13
Learning Outcome: Processing and contextualisation of information (sources and/or research literature) according to scientific rules; skills in writing geographic essays (formulating, reasoning and defending arguments) on a selected topic from different historical epochs and disciplines as well as presentation of newly acquired knowledge.
Compulsory Module 15: Historical Excursion (5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of Compulsory Module 1
Learning Outcome: Acquisition of knowledge of the forms of historical display and the competences to present historical relations on site and to deconstruct representation forms.
Compulsory Module 16: Fundamentals Subject Didactics History, Social Studies and Political Education (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Insights into theoretical fundamentals of teaching history and politics; understanding of the concepts of historical awareness, historical culture and historical thinking; elaboration of current competence models, knowledge of current curricula and development of instruments in order to implement theoretical and methodical knowledge in consideration of the target group for competence-oriented planning of lessons.
  COURSES Compulsory Module 20: Interdisciplinary Skills (5 ECTS-Credits)
Prerequisites for registration: The prerequisites specified by the respective curricula must be met.
Learning Outcome: This module aims at advancing and expanding the study programme by acquired additional qualifications.
Courses corresponding to 5 ECTS-Credits must be chosen from the Bachelor or Diploma Programmes offered at the University of Innsbruck, however not from the other teaching subject. With regard to the professional practice it is recommended to pursue advanced studies in sociology, political science and gender studies.
