Compulsory Module 1: Philosophy and Religious Studies (12.5 ECTS-Credits, 8 h)

Learning Outcome: The ability to reflect deeply on ethical matters and on the nature of the image of man presented in the main branches of contemporary psychology; the ability to independently and critical an-alyse the history, current shape and the claims of selected religions in consideration of religious studies.
Compulsory Module 2: Exegesis of the Old Testament (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 2 of the first part of the study programme.
Learning Outcome: Advanced knowledge of the basic knowledge gained in fundamental exegesis of the Old Testament and in the historic-theological introductory seminar; the ability to analyse Old Testament texts independently by using the subject-relevant methodology and the assistance of suitable commentaries and secondary literature.
Compulsory Module 3: Exegesis of the New Testament (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of compulsory module 2 of the first part of the study programme.
Learning Outcome: Advanced knowledge of the basic knowledge gained in fundamental exegesis of the New Testament and in the historic-theological introductory seminar; the ability to analyse New Testament texts independently by using the subject-relevant methodology and the assistance of sui- table commentaries and secondary literature.

Compulsory Module 7: Historical Theology: Special Issues (12.5 ECTS-Credits, 7 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Exemplary work with sources from the Church and the history of the liturgy; insights in the problematic of the papacy (the historic development and ecumenical problems); advanced insight into the discussion of true and wrong faith and on chances of agreement in faith today.
Compulsory Module 8: Practical Theology: Special Issues I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)

Learning Outcome: Knowledge of the pastoral-theological, Church law and moral-theological approaches, norms and values for a communicative-theology in the sense of the Second Vatican Council, of the basic elements of community theology and the legal structure of the Church as God's People as well as imparting counseling competence in the service of the Sacrament of Forgiveness.

Learning Outcome: Acquisition of competences for preaching and church law fundaments of pastoral work.
Compulsory Module 10: Gender-specific Aspects (2.5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Perception of and reflexion on gender-specific aspects in philosophical-theological disciplines.
Agreement on the topic, the scope and the form of the Diploma Thesis on the basis of a brief summary of the contents (abstract) as well as agreement on the work processes and the study progress. Planning of an appropriate time frame for the completion of the Diploma Thesis.
Compulsory Module 11: Preparation Diploma Thesis (5 ECTS-Credits)

Learning Outcome: After successful completion of this module, the students will be able to write a brief summary of the content of the planned Diploma Thesis (abstract), to outline an anticipated schedule and to conclude a written Diploma Thesis agreement.
