Compulsory Module 9: Cultural Differences (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The students can identify cultural studies research approaches and access possibilities. They can classify these and in the framework of research learning they can apply topic-specific questions and reflect on social perception categories. The students are familiar with the different forms of blended-learning and of teamwork and they can apply and widen their knowledge both in a team and independently.
Compulsory Module 10: Regional Culture (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students can formulate regional-specific questions in consideration of critical reflection of
social perception categories. They are able to identify and classify cultural studies research approaches and to answer research questions by using adequate methods.
Compulsory Module 11: Material Culture and Signs (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are able to select methods for specific research questions, can carry out cultural analytical procedures and are able to critically reflect on the results. They are able to impart ethnological questions to different groups of the public. Students master different blended learning techniques and are able to acquire, expand and apply their knowledge independently as well as in a team.
Compulsory Module 12: Current Directions and Developments in European Ethnology (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are able to categorise their knowledge for specific research issues independently and select adequate methods for dealing with a specific research topic. They are able to present their research results in verbal and written form.
Compulsory Module 13: Cultural Encounters and Conflicts (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)

Learning Outcome: Knowledge of central terms, themes and methodological concepts of research in the field of cultural encounters; exemplary insight into research approaches of research in the field of cultural encounters
