Learning Outcome: Students have acquired profound factual and specialized knowledge of the latest research findings in reference to Ancient, Byzantine and Medieval Art History.
Module 2: Historical Development of Art II (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have acquired profound factual and specialised knowledge of the latest research findings with regards to Medieval and Modern Era Art History.
Module 3: Generic History and Function of Art I (10 ECT-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have acquired specialised knowledge of Generic History and function of painting, graphic arts and the new media as well as a critical awareness of issues of the latest research.
Module 4: Generic History and Function of Art II (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have acquired specialised knowledge of generic history and function of architecture, sculpture and craft as well as a critical awareness of issues of the latest research.
Module 5: Excursion: History and Theory of Art (10 ECTS-Credits, 7 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have acquired specialized ability to re-examine their theoretical knowledge of original works of art in situ and are able to critically assess scientific views in reference to their findings.

Learning Outcome: Due to studies of original works of art and of the issues arising from their specific material quality and their state of preservation students have a profound understanding of Art History as a tool (object science).

Learning Outcome: Students have acquired highly specialized skills that allow them to critically approach in an academic manner the broad range of art historical methods.

Providing the availability of places, courses amounting to 10 ECTS-Credits must be selected from the curricular of Masters and Diploma programmes at the University of Innsbruck. It is recommended to select one course from the field of gender.

Learning Outcome: This module aims at expanding the study programme and at the acquisition of additional qualifications from other disciplines.

Learning Outcome: Nach erfolgreicher Absolvierung de Moduls sind die Studierenden in der Lage, eine inhaltliche Kurzbeschreibung der geplanten Masterarbeit (Exposé) zu verfassen, einen zeitlichen Ablauf zu skizzieren und eine schriftliche Masterarbeitsvereinbarung abzuschließen.

Learning Outcome: Examination of the Master's Thesis in the overall context of the Master's Programme in Art Science; with special focus on theoretical comprehension, methodical issues, communication of findings of the Master's Thesis and presentation skills.
