Compulsory Module 7: History of Roman Literature (5 ECTS-Credits; 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The graduates of this module have a systematic overview of Roman literature and basic knowledge of Roman culture and history. They know the main authors and their works and are able to relate them to their historical and cultural context. They have in particular studied the relationship of Greek writing with Roman literature. They have fundamental knowledge of the epochs of literary history, their characteristics and their aesthetic concepts. They are familiar with essential characteristics of literary genera and can locate texts within genre traditions. In this context, they have a basic awareness of reception processes and their roles in the origin of literary works.
