Module 3: Advanced Topics in Medieval and Neo-Latin (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates of this module have expanded their knowledge and skills in the field of post-antique Latinity: They have advanced their language and translation skills in the field of Neo Latin literature and gained a sound knowledge of the linguistic characteristics of Neo Latin. They are able to precisely locate the texts dealt with in their historic and cultural context and have advanced their knowledge of Neo Latin literature. They have acquired basic knowledge of Latin Palaeography and are able to read medieval and early modern manuscripts.
Module 4: Extensive Reading I (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates have optimised their ability to read Latin texts either from antiquity, the Middle Ages or the early modern period. They are able to read longer passages of Latin works and reproduce their contents in the form of a translation. They acquire specialised knowledge of a selection of Latin texts from various genres and can connect them to their knowledge of literary history. At the same time they improve their competence for analysing poetry.
Module 5: Extensive Reading II (10 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Graduates have optimised their ability to read Latin texts either from antiquity, the Middle Ages or the early modern period. They are able to read longer passages of Latin works and reproduce their contents in the form of a translation. They acquire specialised knowledge of a selection of Latin texts from various genres and can connect them to their knowledge of literary history. At the same time they improve their competence for analysing poetry.
