3. Middle Eastern Archaeology

Module 1C: Consolidation and Specialisation II: Middle Eastern Archaeology (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Acquirement of specialised knowledge in the range of Middle Eastern Archaeology with special reference given to methodical aspects in regard to independent scientific work.
Modul 2C: Study Group: Middle Eastern Archaeology II (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 1 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Acquirement of competences for independent development and presentation of subjectspecific relevant aspects of archaeological sciences with special regard given to building and settlement typology and realia; Acquirement of social competences by teamwork on subject-specific topics.
Module 4C: Study Group: Middle Eastern Archaeology I (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 1 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Acquirement of competences for independent development and presentation of subjectspecific relevant aspects of archaeological sciences with special regard given to art, culture and religion sciences; Acquirement of social competences by teamwork on subject-specific topics.
Module 5D: In Depth Study of Archaeology IV (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Skills to archive archaeological findings and finds in an electronic data base, as well as ability to convert, rectify and redraw original excavation data with consideration of scientific publication of the findings.
Module 6/7: Modules from other Master study programmes of the Faculty of Humanities 1 (7.5/7.5 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: The registration requirements of the respective curricula do apply.
Learning Outcome: In addition to the goal described for the individual modules, students will gain insight into other scientific disciplines or deepen the knowledge of their own.
It is required to complete two modules each totalling 7.5 ECTS-Credits and chosen from the Master study programmes of the Faculty of Humanities 1 at the University of Innsbruck. From the list of elective modules in the Master programme in Ancient History and Ancient Oriental Studies students can only choose modules that are not already part of the chosen specialisation.
