Compulsory Module 14: Medicinal Chemistry I and Biopharmaceutics (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of the compulsory modules 8 and 9
Learning Outcome: Students are able to derive fundamental pharmaceutical characteristics (e.g. chemical reactivity, physico-chemical parameter, membrane passage, interactions with targets, instabilities as well as metabolization) from the structure of drugs. They are able to develop strategies to optimize biological availability by chemical or galenic measures (biopharmacy) with e.g. prodrugs, process material additives, change of supramolecular characteristics or with special formulations.
