(1) The Minor "Communicative Skills for the Profession" covering 30 ECTS-Credits may be selected by regular degree students of bachelor's programmes at the University of Innsbruck if the respective curriculum provides the possibility to pass a Minor.
Minor: Communicative Skills for the Profession (30 ECTS-Credits)
Learning Outcome: Graduates of the Minor "Communicative Skills for the Profession" can plan written and oral communication processes in a goal-oriented manner, carry them out appropriately and evaluate them critically as well as classify, analyse and assess writing products and rhetorical genres. They possess the competence to critically analyse oral and written communication, especially from professional practice and the media, with regard to the argumentative, stylistic and multimodal techniques observed in each case. They can assess the respective special characteristics and requirements of oral and written communication and take them into account appropriately in their own communication behaviour.
- A compulsory module covering 10 ECTS-Credits is to be passed. - Elective modules covering 20 ECTS-Credits are to be selected. Students of the Bachelor's Programme German Philology may not select elective modules 1 and 4, students of the Bachelor's Programme Linguistics may not select elective modules 2, 3 and 8. Students of the Bachelor's Programme Slavonic Studies, French, Italian and Spanish may not select elective module 4.

Elective Module 4: Fundamentals of Media Studies (5 ECTS-Credits; 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are able to scientifically name and appropriately assess the basic terms used in media studies. They are able to give an overview of central questions, approaches and results in media research and having gained an insight into the methods of media analysis, they are able to recognise, describe and critically analyse them.
Elective Module 5: Media Research and Media Practice (5 ECTS-Credits; 3 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are able to present selected topics of media research, discuss their approaches and results and try out practical media skills.
Elective Module 7: Text Editing (5 ECTS-Credits; 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are able to recognise and interpret questions of German studies practice and transfer them to the planning and implementation of concrete profession-related tasks and evaluate their solution.
Elective Module 8: Gender Studies (5 ECTS-Credits; 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students understand issues relating to language and gender and are able to independently recognise phenomena in language system and use and to analyse them by applying theoretical concepts.
