Learning Outcome: The students know the basic theories and methods in sociolinguistics and linguistics of varieties. They know about the diversity of speech and language(s) in different socio-spatial contexts. They are able to describe language as a social phenomenon in its mutual relation to space and society and to critically question it in the context of social transformation processes.
