Module 1: Theories and History of Gender Relations I (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are capable of evaluating core social scientific strands of theories of women's and gender studies and can differentiate key questions of gender studies. They have knowledge of social movement research (feminist movement) and of gender studies' connectivity with humanistic, cultural and social scientific as well as economic disciplines. They are able to classify gender as a principal structuring category in societal contexts.
Module 2: Theories and History of Gender Relations II (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have knowledge of the historicity and cultural variability of gender relations and of the ordinal category "gender". They are familiar with the history of the feminist movement and are able to critically discuss current findings of humanistic and cultural scientific gender studies and normative claims to gender.
Module 3: (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students acquire knowledge of methodological, conceptual and theoretical tools to analyse the reproduction and change of inequalities, lifestyles and ways of life in post-national and post-colonial constellations and with regard to different forms of violence and domination. This takes into account social classification and differentiation processes, the interdependence of various forms of discrimination with the gender dimension as well as civil society self-organisation processes and social movements.
Module 4: Inequality, Difference and Power II (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The students have knowledge about social differences, different forms of discrimination and social-structural inequalities. Using the key categories "gender", "race", "class" and "disability", they are able to analyse socially effective problems, to devise and argue for solutions and apply them to social, cultural and educational issues.
Agreement on the topic, the scope and the form of the Master's Thesis on the basis of a brief summary of the contents (abstract) as well as agreement on the work processes and the study progress. Planning of an appropriate time frame for the completion of the Master's Thesis.
Compulsory Module 5: Preparation of the Master's Thesis (5 ECTS-Credits)

Learning Outcome: After successful completion of this module, the students will be able to write a brief summary of the content of the planned Master's Thesis (abstract), to outline an anticipated schedule and to conclude a written Master's Thesis agreement.
Module 6: Master's Thesis Colloquium (5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of compulsory modules 1-4.
Learning Outcome: Graduates are able to design and carry out a scientific research project and to convey their research findings in different settings. Additionally, they have advanced presentation skills, have expertise in dealing with complex interrelations and have proficient foreign language skills. Graduates are able to critically reflect acquired knowledge, to specifically refine and renew it.
