Compulsory Module 1: Theological Thinking and Working (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: The students can apply the scientific formalities necessary for theological and philosophical work; they can present the foundations of the faith of the church and the theology of the sacraments independently and in a context-appropriate manner.

Learning Outcome: The students are able to critically evaluate validity claims and assertions of knowledge in various fields of thought and action and independently apply the main rules and methods of explaining, understanding and arguing.

Learning Outcome: The students have in-depth theoretical knowledge of the philosophical theory of reality with special attention to the position of humans in overall reality and the normative foundations of human life.
Compulsory Module 4: History of Philosophy and Philosophical Doctrine of God (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)

Learning Outcome: The students are able to present basic problems of the occidental history of philosophy as well as the possibilities and limits of philosophical questions about God independently and in a context-appropriate manner.

Learning Outcome: The students know the Hebrew script; they can translate simple texts from the Hebrew Old Testament on their own using the relevant tools.

Learning Outcome: The students know the genesis and structure of the Christian Bible in its historical context; they can independently apply biblical and historical-theological methods to specific questions.

Learning Outcome: The students know the structure and content of the groups of scriptures in the Old Testament; they can independently contextualise biblical texts socially and culturally using methods of biblical sciences.

Learning Outcome: The students know important arguments in the tradition of Christian moral theology and social ethics. They can impart Christian world responsibility in the present against the background of knowledge in human and social sciences independently and in a context-appropriate manner.

Learning Outcome: The students are able to present Christian denominations and other religions independently and apply their knowledge appropriately to the ecumenical and interreligious dialogue.

Learning Outcome: The students are able to independently present theological courses set during the formative phase of Christianity as well as central forms of Christian liturgical celebrations in their genesis, practice and theological interpretation, taking into account the audience.

Learning Outcome: The students can independently present the historical development, theological justification, the method and basic norms of the law of the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Catholic Churches in their internal structure and in relation to the state on a high theoretical level.
Compulsory Module 17: Pastoral Theology and Religious Education (7.5 ECTS-Credits, 5 h)

Learning Outcome: The students have the ability to theoretically reconstruct, critically assess and independently develop forms of perception, modes of knowledge and work focuses in exemplary places of pastoral care as well as in catechetical-religious-pedagogical processes.
Compulsory Module 18: Exemplary Examination of a Topic I (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of compulsory module 1 of the first part of the study
programme.
Learning Outcome: The students can independently and collectively work on exemplary research questions from philosophy, biblical studies and historical theology at a high theoretical level and present the results of their work in a context-appropriate manner.
Compulsory Module 19: Exemplary Examination of a Topic II (10 ECTS-AP, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of compulsory module 1 of the first part of the study
programme.
Learning Outcome: The students can independently and collectively work on exemplary research questions from systematic and practical theology at a high theoretical level and present the results of their work in a context-appropriate manner.
