Elective Modules (30 ECTS-Credits)

Elective Module 1: Political Science in Practice (15 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of compulsory modules 1 to 9
Learning Outcome: Students complete a practical internship with a total of 350 hours per week (in institutions like parliamnets, governmental institutions or administrative bodies, international organizations, the media, etc.) in order to get insights into an area of practice. The University Head of Studies has to give permission before starting the internship. Duration, scope and content of the activity performed are to be certified by the respective institution, where the internship is completed. Prior to commencement of the practical training, approval must be obtained from the University Head of Studies. A certificate from the respective institution at which the internship was completed must be submitted and a report submitted on the duration, scope and content of the work perfomed.
Elective Module 3: Political Education (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students understand the institutionalization and development of infrastructure in school and extracurricular political education in the German-speaking area. They deal with different main didactical concepts, contents and methodical approaches political didactics.
Elective Module 5: Individual Choice of Specialisation (20 ECTS-Credits or 15 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: The prerequisites specified by the respective curricula must be met.
For individual specialisation modules of the curricula of the bachelor programmes of the University of Innsbruck corresponding to 20 or 15 ECTS-Credits can be freely chosen according to § 54 par. 1 of the Universities Act.
