Module 1: Politics and Gender (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have an in-depth knowledge of the most important movements of political scientific gender research and know how to analyse the category gender in interdependency with other categories - such as race/ethnicity, class, sexuality, religion/ideology, ability/disability or age - considering their historical development as well as their potential for change. Students are able to critically reflect different political theories - such as state, parties and election systems, economic, social, family, labour policies - as well as empirical research with regard to their explicit and implicit gender norms. They are informed about current results of empirical political scientific gender research and know how to assess political strategies of gender policies on a national, European and international level in a differentiated and individual way.

Learning Outcome: Students can evaluate gender specific implications of organizational practices and identify suitable formational measures on the basis of knowledge on gender-specific and diversity-related organizational studies.
Module 3: Gender and Economics (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have foundational knowledge of the relevance of gender in economic contexts (e.g. income, labour market, division of resources, economic policy, gender budgeting) and can integrate a gender-specific perspective into the discussion of questions of economic and social policy.
Module 4: Gender and Ethnicity: Culture and Media (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students are familiar with current and historic forms of gender and ethnic representation in different cultural systems of symbolization. They can apprehend interdependencies of gender and ethnic representation and the (re-)constructs of other social realities. The focus is on analysing medial representation.
Module 5: Gender, Ethnicity and Language (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students understand constructs of gender and ethnicity through language. They are able to evaluate key topics, concepts and contexts of feminist linguistics and to deal with sub-areas of the research object and theories as well as methods of feminist linguistics in an exemplary manner.
Module 6: Gender, Norms and Normalisation (10 ECTS-Credits, 4/5 h)

Learning Outcome: Students are aware of the influence of law and legislation on the different lifestyles of women and men. They are able to evaluate societal hierarchization and discriminations in a legal context. They are familiar with the basics of pertinent legal regulations (e.g. equality, gender mainstreaming) and can analyse how law takes part in shaping the construct of gender.
Module 7: Gender and Globalisation (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students know the relevance of gender issues in the context of (sustainable) economic and social development against the background of contemporary and historic globalization processes. They are able to critically and independently analyse questions in this field and to establish interrelations.
Students have to complete an internship in order to test and apply acquired
knowledge and skills. The internship also serves to give insight to the
occupational practice and to gain professional qualifications. It amounts to
200 hours. It is to be completed at institutions where speicalists for gender
issues, equal opportunities or diversity officers pursuant to § 1 sec. 4 work
(e.g. educational and research institutions, media, private companies, NGOs
and non-profit organizations, public administration, international
organizations, institutions in the area of migration and integration,
institutions in policy fields such as social, cultural, economic, development
and gender equality policy). It takes place during the semester break.
Students have to seek approval by the university programme director before
entrance into the internship. A confirmation of the tasks performed
(including duration, scope and content) issued by the institution is to be
submitted in writing.
Module 8: Internship (10 ECTS-Credits, 1 h)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of 3 modules, whereof at least 2 compulsory modules
Learning Outcome: Students apply acquired knowledge and skills in a professional environment; upon completion of the module, students are familiar with the conditions of professional and/or academic practice.
Module 9: Body Relations in Education and Culture (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The students explain normative concepts of male and female bodies and compare them against the background of social difference and inequality. They assess the relevance of the embodiment of gender in subject-forming processes. They determine historically specific body relations in the field of love and desire from a gender-theoretical perspective and apply their knowledge in a gender- and diversity-aware manner within the context of education.
Module 10: Gender and Cultural Differentiation (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students have an overview of the cultural studies specifics of the subject, possess advanced theoretical and methodological knowledge and operate with key cultural and social science terms. They are able to deal independently and critically with academic texts, including gender-related topics and theories and foreign-language literature. They work in and with different digital learning environments.
Module 11: Methods in Gender Studies (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: The students are familiar with various methods relevant to gender studies. They are able to select suitable methods with regard to different gender research issues and to apply these methods in a concrete research context. They are able to critically reflect on acquired knowledge and to expand and update it in a targeted manner.

Module 12: Interdisciplinary Skills (10 ECTS-Credits)
Prerequisites for registration: the prerequisites of the respective curricula do apply.
Learning Outcome: This module serves to widen the study programme and to acquire additional qualifications.
