Compulsory Module 1: Orientation Module (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Knowledge of the basic linguistic, historic, sociological, (inter)cultural as well as profession-related aspects of translation; proper use of the linguistic terminology for describing language; oral and written language competence as well as competence in linguistic analysis in German as precondition for future translation and interpretation work; safe and situation-adequate command of the norms of language and style with regards to independent text analysis, text optimization and text production; knowledge of the different fields of work in transcultural communication.
Students know about the most important contents of the study programme and its course and are able to assess their choice of the study Programme.
