Learning Outcome: The students can
- reflect on their planned research project in the light of the requirements for dissertation projects;
- distinguish between basic methodological positions in the social and economic sciences;
- evaluate the influence of these methodological positions on their dissertation project.

Compulsory Module 2: Quantitative Forschungsmethoden (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)

- design a quantitative research project;
- assess the suitability of various quantitative research methods for scientific questions in the context of dissertation projects;

Compulsory Module 3: Qualitative Forschungsmethoden (5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)

Compulsory Module 4: Professional Development (5 ECTS-Credits)

Learning Outcome: The students
- have generic and/or interdisciplinary competences in accordance with the learning outcomes of the respective courses; and/or
- are able to integrate the feedback of the faculty and other participants of the Doctoral Colloquium or Doctoral Consortium into their dissertation project.
Es sind Leistungen im Umfang von 5 ECTS-AP gemäß Festlegung in der Dissertationsvereinbarung zu absolvieren. Diese können aus Lehrveranstaltungen stammen, die die Lehrkompetenz fördern, wissenschaftliche Schreibkompetenz entwickeln, Kompetenzen für den Wissenstransfer des Faches einschließlich der Nutzung neuer Medien vermitteln, Grundlagen der Forschungsethik und guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis vermitteln, Gleichstellung und Gender in Wissenschaft und wissenschaftlichen Institutionen thematisieren oder die Interdisziplinarität fördern. 2,5 ECTS-AP der geforderten Leistungen können in Form der Teilnahme an einem Doctoral Colloquium bzw. Compulsory Module 5: Verteidigung der Dissertation (defensio) (2.5 ECTS-Credits)

Prerequisites for registration: Positive assessment of the dissertation and all other modules
Learning Outcome: Students can reflect on
- justify the theoretical and methodological position of their dissertation in academic discourse;
- defend the results of the scientific research question of their dissertation.
Final oral defence of the dissertation before an examination senate- justify the theoretical and methodological position of their dissertation in academic discourse;
