Courses

Es sind Wahlmodule im Umfang von insgesamt 40 ECTS-AP zu absolvieren, wobei ein Wahlmodul aus den Wahlmodulen 1 und 2 zu wählen ist. Anstelle des Wahlmoduls Interdisziplinäre Kompetenzen (Z 3) und der Individuellen Schwerpunktsetzung (Z 5) kann eine Ergänzung nach Maßgabe freier Plätze absolviert werden. Ergänzungen sind festgelegte Module aus anderen Curricula im Umfang von 30 ECTS-AP; sie werden im Mitteilungsblatt der Universität Innsbruck verlautbart.

Module

Elective Module 1: Forms of Scientific Communication (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)

Prerequisites for registration: none

Learning Outcome: Optimization of humanities-specific scientific text production skills as well as rhetorical interaction skills; ability to analyse and reflect complex oral and written communicative genre of the domain of science based on theory, pronounced faculty of judgement.

Elective Module 2: Practice I (10 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)

Prerequisites for registration: none

Learning Outcome: Students apply their acquired knowledge and skills in a professional environment according to §2 par. 2. Having competed this module, the students are familiar with the conditions of the professional and/or scientific practice.

To test and apply their acquired knowledge and skills or to get an overview of the conditions of the professional practice and to acquire job-related qualifications, a professional practice amounting to 10 ECTS-Credits (or 240 hours) can be passed. The practice can be also made during the lecture-free period. It is recommended to pass it abroad. Before starting the practice, it must be approved by the Director of Studies. The practice must be passed in institutions according to §2 par. 2. The duration, scope and contents of the work done must be confirmed by the institution in writing and presented. A report on the practice must be written. Elective modules 2 and 4 can be made in the same institution (corresponding to altogether 20 ECTS-Credits or 480 hours).

COURSES

Providing the availability of places, courses corresponding to 10 ECTS-Credits may be taken from the curricula of other Master' programmes at the University of Innsbruck. It is particularly recommended to take a course dealing with gender aspects including results of women's and gender research.

Elective Module 3: Interdisciplinary Skills (10 ECTS-Credits)

Prerequisites for registration: The prerequisites specified in the respective curricula must be met

Learning Outcome: This module serves to expand the study programme as well as the acquisition of additional qualifications.

Elective Module 4: Practice II (10 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)

Zur individuellen Schwerpunktsetzung können Module aus den Curricula der an der Universität Innsbruck eingerichteten Masterstudien im Umfang von 20 ECTS-AP frei gewählt werden.

Elective Module 5: Individual Choice of Specialisation (20 ECTS-Credits) (no courses)

Prerequisites for registration: The prerequisites specified in the respective curricula must be met.

For individual specialisation modules corresponding to a maximum of 20 ECTS-Credits can be freely chosen from the Master's Programmes offered at the University of Innsbruck.
