Learning Outcome: Students acquire specialised knowledge in cultural and media theories, cultural philoso-phy, aesthetics, theory and history of film as well as in Russian or East-European cul-tural history resp. They specialise their knowledge on the working of different areas of the cultural industry (literary events, publishing and exhibitions, theatre, opera, ballet, performance, cinema and film festivals, media).

Elective Module 11: Command of Russian Language (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Expansion of the competence to analyse traditional text types and new media; advanced insight into linguistic developments and phenomena; knowledge of the relationship be-tween language and style; advanced knowledge of the field of Russian literature and media landscape. Particular attention is paid to the development of discourse skills.

Elective Module 12: Interdisciplinary Competences (10 ECTS-Credits)
Prerequisites for registration: The prerequisites specified in the respective curricula must be met.
Learning Outcome: This module serves to expand the study programme as well as the acquisition of additional qualifications.
Providing the availability of places, courses corresponding to 10 ECTS-Credits may be taken from the curricula of other Master's and/or Diploma programmes at the University of Innsbruck. It is particularly recommended to take a course dealing with gender aspects including results of women's and gender research.
Elective Module 13: Practice I (5 ECTS-Credits)

Learning Outcome: Students apply their acquired knowledge and skills in a professional environment ac-cording to §2 par. 3. Having completed this module, the students are familiar with the conditions of the professional and/or scientific practice.
To test and apply the acquired knowledge and competences or to ori-entate on the conditions of the professional practice and to acquire additional qualifications, students of the Master's Programme in Slavonic Studies can pass an internship covering 5 ECTS-Credits (or 120 hours resp.)
The practice can be also made during the lecture-free period. Before starting the internship, it must be approved by the Director of Studies. The duration, scope and contents of the work done must be confirmed by the institution in writing and presented. A report on the internship must be written.
Elective modules 13 (Practice I) and 14 (Practice II) can be passed in the same institution. This corresponds to a scope of 15 ECTS-Credits (or 360 hours).
Elective Module 14: Practice II (10 ECTS-Credits)

Learning Outcome: Students apply their acquired knowledge and skills in a professional environment ac-cording to §2 par. 3. Having completed this module, the students are familiar with the conditions of the professional and/or scientific practice.
