Compulsory Module 1: Theories of Gender Relations (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students have knowledge of central social science theories of gender studies. They will be able to differentiate between central concepts and issues of theoretical gender studies, including body, subject, sexuality, violence, politics and economics. They are able to classify the significance of gender as a fundamental structural category in social contexts and can also recognise the interaction of gender, race, class, dis/ability and heteronormativity. They have knowledge of the connectivity of gender studies to disciplines in the humanities, cultural studies, social sciences and economics.
Compulsory Module 2: History of Gender Relations II (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have methodological and theoretical knowledge of gender history. They are able to apply gender as a multi-relational category for the historical analysis of social relations. They know the history of women's movements in the context of other social movements and feminist theorising. They are able to discuss current results of critical gender research, develop gender-historical questions, produce scientific findings independently and present them in an argumentative and comprehensible manner. They are able to participate in academic discourse and process feedback constructively.
Compulsory Module 3: Reproduction and Change in Social Inequality (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students are equipped with methodological, conceptual and theoretical tools to analyse the reproduction and transformation of inequality relations, lifestyles and ways of life in post-national and post-colonial constellations and with regard to various forms of violence and domination. When analysing social classification and differentiation processes, students can take into account the interweaving of various forms of discrimination with the gender dimension as well as civil society self-organisation processes and social movements.
Compulsory Module 4: Education, Power and Society (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h)

Learning Outcome: Students have knowledge of the intersectionality of power and inequality relations and are able to reflect on their discriminatory effects in education and society. Using the categories and concepts of gender, race, class and disability, they can analyse various forms of segregation and exclusion, identify the mechanisms of social inequality and their legitimation and argue social and educational policy strategies for anti-discrimination, empowerment and inclusion.
Compulsory Module 5: Epistemologies and Methods in Gender Studies (7,5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)

Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of compulsory module 1
Learning Outcome: Students know the basics of feminist epistemology and are able to empirically analyse the interaction of social conditions and the production of knowledge. By practically testing the basics of interdisciplinary research, they are able to explain connecting lines between disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches. They have a broad repertoire of approaches to interdisciplinary gender studies and can apply these with regard to different questions and research contexts. After completing the module, students will be able to methodically analyse the category of gender, gender knowledge and gender orders and critically evaluate research approaches. They will be able to present their own research results in a comprehensible manner, assess the quality of the work of others and process feedback.
Compulsory Module 6: Research Colloquium for the Master¿s Thesis (2,5 ECTS-Credits, 2 h)
Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of compulsory modules 1 - 5
Learning Outcome: Students are able to design and conduct a scientific study and communicate the research results in different contexts. They are able to apply the rules of good scientific practice, can correctly implement scientific conventions (structure, content, style) and work with relevant sources to present the core concept of the planned Master's Thesis. They utilise the latest scientific findings to develop and answer questions. Furthermore, students have specialised skills in lecturing and presentation activities and in the oral and written discussion of complex contexts. Students are able to critically reflect on, expand and update the knowledge they have acquired.
Compulsory Module 7: Master¿s Thesis Defence (2,5 ECTS-Credits)

Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of compulsory modules 1 ¿ 6 as well as the Master¿s Thesis
Learning Outcome: Students are able to reflect on their Master's Thesis in the overall context of the master¿s programme. They are able to present the main results of their Master's Thesis and defend their work in an academic discussion.
