Elective Module 2: Current Topics of Information Systems, especially Digital Organizations (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of the compulsory module acc. to §8 para. 2 no. 2
Learning Outcome: Students have in-depth knowledge of selected models and theories in business information systems and their relevance for the success of digital organisations. They can independently develop solutions for how organisations can deal with challenges arising from the further development of information technologies. They are able to present these solutions precisely both orally and in writing.
Elective Module 3: Current Topics of Information Systems, especially Digital Society (10 ECTS-Credits, 4 h) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of the compulsory module acc. to §8 para. 2 no. 2
Learning Outcome: Students are able to evaluate the social changes brought about by various digital innovations and critically analyse their social and ethical implications. They have knowledge of selected theories and models in the context of the digital society. Students can independently research issues relating to the social impact of new technologies in the context of digitalisation, understand and critically analyse current research articles and media reports, and prepare and present results and conclusions for an expert audience.
Elective Module 5: Operations Management II: Applying Methods of Operations Managements ¿ Optimization, Simulation and Analytics (10 ECTS-AP, 4 SSt.) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive evaluation of the compulsory module acc. to §8 para. 2 no. 2
Learning Outcome: Students are able to independently apply and implement quantitative methods of operations management and discuss the limits of their applicability in business practice. Students are able to independently analyse current scientific articles and critically question their results and conclusions in relation to real-life problems.
Compulsory Module 2: Software Security Engineering (7.5 ECTS-credits, 4 hours) (no courses)
Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of the mandatory courses referred to in § 8 (2.2).
Learning Outcome: Identification of potential security and critical privacy aspects of information technology
systems; safe use of elementary terms; formulation of protection goals; understanding of simple cryptographic protocols based on abstract cryptographic functions; secure use of public key infrastructures; understanding of elementary concepts of data protection; first experiences in dealing with typical weak points of software systems; insights into social aspects of information security and data protection; awareness and assessment of one's own knowledge and skills in the security context.
