Compulsory Module 1: Orientation Module (10 ECTS-Credits, 6 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Knowledge of the basic linguistic, historic, sociological, (inter)cultural as well as profession-related aspects of translation; proper use of the linguistic terminology for describing language; oral and written language competence as well as competence in linguistic analysis in German as precondition for future translation and interpretation work; safe and situation-adequate command of the norms of language and style with regards to independent text analysis, text optimization and text production; knowledge of the different fields of work in transcultural communication.
Students know about the most important contents of the study programme and its course and are able to assess their choice of the study Programme.

Elective Modules
Für die Spezialisierung 'Fachübersetzen und Translationstechnologie' sind Wahlmodule im Umfang von insgesamt 30 ECTS-AP zu absolvieren. Folgende Varianten sind möglich:
Freie Wahl aus den Wahlmodulen 1 bis 22 oder Absolvierung einer Ergänzung für Masterstudien nach Maßgabe freier Plätze. Ergänzungen sind festgelegte Module im Umfang von 30 ECTS-AP; sie werden im Mitteilungsblatt der Universität Innsbruck verlautbart.
Wissenschaftliche Kompetenzerweiterung: Es sind die kompetenzerweiternden Wahlmodule 15, 17, 18 sowie 10 ECTS-AP aus den Wahlmodulen 19 bis 22 zu absolvieren.
Berufspraktische Kompetenzerweiterung: Es sind Wahlmodule zur translatorischen Kompetenzerweiterung im Umfang von 7,5 ECTS-AP aus WM 1 bis 6 und kompetenzerweiternde Wahlmodule im Umfang von 22,5 ECTS-AP aus den WM 7 bis 22 zu absolvieren.
Für die Spezialisierung 'Literarisches und audiovisuelles Übersetzen' sind Wahlmodule im Umfang von insgesamt 30 ECTS-AP zu absolvieren. Folgende Varianten sind möglich:
Freie Wahl aus Wahlmodulen 1 bis 22 oder Absolvierung einer Ergänzung für Masterstudien nach Maßgabe freier Plätze. Ergänzungen sind festgelegte Module im Umfang von 30 ECTS-AP; sie werden im Mitteilungsblatt der Universität Innsbruck verlautbart.
Berufspraktische Kompetenzerweiterung: Es sind Wahlmodule zur Vertiefung der translatorischen Kompetenz im Umfang von 7,5 ECTS-AP aus WM 1 bis 6 und kompetenzerweiternde Wahlmodule im Umfang von 22,5 ECTS-AP aus den WM 7 bis 22 zu absolvieren.
Für die Spezialisierung 'Theorie und Praxis des Konferenzdolmetschens' sind Wahlmodule im Umfang von 25 ECTS-AP aus den Wahlmodulen 1 bis 22 zu absolvieren.
Elective Module 7: Advanced Language Skills (5 ECTS-Credits, 4h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Competence expansion in language proficiency for an already learned first or second foreign language
