Learning Outcome: Students are able to demonstrate experimentally oriented working of physics and they are able to independently elaborate basic experiments of classical physics in the fields of mechanics and thermodynamics, electromagnetism and optics. Elective Module 4: Interdisciplinary Competences I (5 ECTS-Credits)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students are able to explain interdisciplinary fundamentals from the fields of engineering sciences, biology, chemistry and pharmacy, geo- and atmospheric sciences, interdisciplinary basics of gender aspects, advanced basics from one or several partial areas of physics, mathematics or computer sciences, beyond the courses of the Bachelor's Programme Physics or interdisciplinary basics of gender aspects, and their corresponding concepts.
Course with a total of up to 5 ECTS-Credits from the course offer at the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Geo- and Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Physics and Engineering Science set up at University of Innsbruck, but not at the same time courses of the Bachelor's Programme Physics, can be chosen freely. It is recommended to attend teaching units on the topic of the gender aspects of mathematics, informatics and physics.

INFO Master's Programme Physics according to the Curriculum 2007 (120 ECTS-Credits, 4 semesters)
Graduates should enroll in lecture courses of the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics marked by 'WP' (Wahlmodul Physik = elective module in Physics) corresponding to a workload of 15 ECTS-Credits. Alternatively, they may enroll in modules of the Master Programmes in Mathematics or Computer Science, which are not part of the Master Programme in Physics.
Elective Module 38: Elective Module (15 ECTS-Credits)
Learning Outcome: Graduates should acquire further knowledge in addition to the contents of the compulsory modules (2) and the elective modules (3) out of the fields of Mathematics or Computer Science or further knowledge in one or more fields of Physics.
