Learning Outcome: Acquisition of basic skills for dealing with historic sources and presentations of Contemporary History as well as skills in presenting the newly acquired knowledge orally as well as in writing. Acquisition of basic knowledge and application of relevant methods aiding scientific research.

Prerequisites for registration: two positively passed modules from elective modules 1 to 6

Learning Outcome: Acquisition of the skill, to formulate a suitable question on a topic in Contemporary History after the research discussion. ability to analyse a topic supported by sources; ability to present the research results in an appropriate way with regards to contents and form; skill to critically reflect on the relevance and the methods of own¿s own work.

Prerequisites for registration: one positively passed module from elective modules 7 to 12

Learning Outcome: Ability to independently make a research-based analysis and contextualisation of a topic in Contemporary History according to scientific rules; skills to independently research and evaluate topic-relevant sources and secondary literature; consolidated skills in writing of historic papers (formulation, giving of reasons and defending arguments).

Learning Outcome: Acquisition of orientational and overview knowledge of the Contemporary History through the main issues and guidelines.

Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory module 1

Learning Outcome: Acquisition of competences in dealing with historical sources and secondary literature on Contemporary History as well as the ability to present the newly-acquired knowledge in oral or written form; the acquisition of awareness and the use of relevant scientific methods; acquisition of an awareness of the forms of historical self-display and the ability to present historical relationships on-site.

Prerequisites for registration: positive completion of compulsory modules 1, 2, 8 and 14

Learning Outcome: Working through and contextualising information (sources and/or research literature) following the scientific rules of the subject, competence in writing historic scholarly pieces (in formulating, justifying and defending arguments and presentation skills) from a selected topic of Contemporary History.

Prerequisites for registration: The prerequisites specified by the respective curricula must be met.

Learning Outcome: Students deal with new themes in selected key areas. They understand and evaluate them as well as argument with regards to scientific dynamics and trends of the respective key areas. They understand the strengths and weaknesses of the different methodological approaches. They gain competences in independent formulating of questions and argumentations.
