Bachelor's Programme Civil and Environmental Engineering according to the Curriculum 2007 (180 ECTS-Credits, 6 semesters)
Studies Induction and Orientation Stage (relevant course examinations)
First Semester
Compulsory Module 10: Module Mechanics (15 ECTS-Credits, 10 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Mastery of the principles and relations between the mechanics of solid and liquid bodies, the ability to form models and to perform basic tasks in statics and dynamics. This knowledge forms the basis of their serviceability and the loadbearing capacity of building constructions on the static and dynamic pressures and of their dimensioning.

Bachelor's Programme Mechatronics according to the Curriculum 2011 (180 ECTS-Credits, 6 semesters)
Third Semester
Compulsory Module 14: Mechanics 2 (5 ECTS-Credits; 3 h)
Prerequisites for registration: Positive completion of studies induction and orientation stage (relevant course examinations)
Learning Outcome: Students
- are familiar with the basic concepts of the dynamics of solid and fluid bodies in a uniform representation;
- have the competence to apply the principles of kinematics and dynamics to fundamental model problems and to develop appropriate (computer-aided) formula
tions and calculation models.
COURSES
Elective Module: Non-subject-specific Skills (7.5 ECTS-Credits)
Learning Outcome: Students possess qualifications enabling them to go beyond the boundaries of their own discipline, constructively, responsibly and with the necessary awareness of gender aspects, to take them into scientific discourse.
Teaching units up to 7.5. ECTS-Credits of the curricula for the BA study programme installed at the University of Innsbruck can be selected freely. It is particularly recommended to attend a teaching unit in which gender aspects, including the specialist results of Women's and Gender Research, are dealt with. (e.g. Gender aspects in technology); furthermore, teaching units to acquire language and social competences are recommended; in addition to that, teaching units are recommended that deal with aspects of security technology (legal basics, work and production security) in mechatronics.

Master's Programme Civil Engineering according to the Curriculum 2014 (120 ECTS-AP, 4 Semester)
Elective Modules, Extension Level 1 (30 ECTS-Credits)
Concentration Option MOS: Modeling and Simulation (15 ECTS-Credits)
Elective Module MOS 1-1: Modelling and Simulation 1-1 (5 ECTS-Credits; 4 h)
Prerequisites for registration: none
Learning Outcome: Students possess advanced knowledge of the principal methods of dynamic calculation in structures and can apply earthquake-specific measuring techniques (e.g. response spectrum). They understand the dynamic behavior of supp
orting structures and are able to choose calculation methods appropriate to the task at hand.

Doctoral Programme Engineering Sciences according to the Curriculum 2009 (180 ECTS-Credits, 6 semesters)
Compulsory Modules (25 ECTS-Credits)
COURSES
Compulsory Module 5: Generic Skills (5 ECTS-Credits)
Prerequisites for registration: successful completion of compulsory module 1
Learning Outcome: After the successful completion of this module, students possess advanced knowledge and skills beyond their subject-specific competences which empower them to pursue independent scientific activities and help them succeed in their future careers.
Courses, as defined in the dissertation agreement, equal to 5 ECTS-Credits have to be completed. One course may be chosen from the field of "Equality and Gender".
Additionally, courses are offered which develop didactic skills and competences for subsequent knowledge transfer of the field. Suitable courses are marked in the course catalogue.
