Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • As Deputy BIblibrary Director, you will support the management and development of the ULB's technical and human resources
  • You will follow new developments in the use and administration of information, data and literature and have the strategic understanding not only to analyse and evaluate the various trends, but also to make them usable for the ULB
  • You develop concepts and strategies for new service offerings to support the numerous specialist communities in their research, learning and work processes
  • Together with the library management, you develop solutions to create optimal working conditions (esp. knowledge management, process documentation, competence development) in times of constant change
  • You are networked across regions and represent the ULB in the relevant specialist committees

Your profile:

  • You have a degree at Master's or doctoral level, library training is desirable
  • You have been working in the library sector for at least 5 years, ideally in a management position, and have experience in implementing change processes
  • You have already worked in a university environment and can draw on extensive knowledge of technical developments in the field of scientific information infrastructures
  • You have strong knowledge of IT project and product management (esp. in the context of agile software development) and can prove this through appropriate certificates
  • You have the ability to think strategically, networked and conceptually and are open to new experiences
  • You can present yourself confidently and convincingly and have good negotiating skills (in German and English)

For this position in job group IVa, a minimum gross salary of € 3.266 per month (14 times)* is stipulated in the collective agreement. The actual market rate of pay will depend on your training and previous experience and will increase over the course of your employment.
