University Assistant (postdoc)

Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • Independent research activities in the areas of the research group "Social and Ecological Transformations" at the Institute of Sociology
  • Participation in research projects, acquisition of third-party funding and publications of the research group
  • Independent teaching of courses (German and English) and holding of examinations
  • Supervision of students, including supervision of theses
  • Cooperation in administrative tasks of the institute
  • Further education
  • Knowledge transfer (third mission)

Your profile:

  • Doctorate in sociology (or relevant doctorate)
  • Relevant research experience in at least one of the following areas: Inequality research, environmental sociology, rural sociology
  • Methodological expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative methods
  • High-quality publications
  • Ability to connect to the research areas represented at the Institute of Sociology
  • Very good command of English and German
  • Teamwork, communication and organisational skills
  • Desirable: Teaching experience
  • Desirable: Experience in acquiring third-party funding

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for this position amounts to € 4.933 per month (14 times)*.
