Job Description:

Your tasks:

  • Acquisition of books, journals and other media in the ALMA library system
  • Formal cataloguing of books, other media and journals

Your profile:

  • A-Level-Diploma or equivalent qualification required
  • Completed university course in 'Library and Information Studies' and/or several years of professional library experience an advantage
  • Ideally experience in working with the ALMA library system and the regulations and formats for the formal cataloguing of media (e.g. RDA, MARC 21) applicable in the Austrian library network
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken German (level C1) and English (level B1) required
  • Further language skills an advantage
  • Good IT skills required, in-depth knowledge of Excel an advantage
  • Organisational talent and sociability
  • Commitment and ability to quickly learn and implement new regulations and work materials
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure between fixed deadlines (e.g. budget finalisation), urgent requests and the required accuracy of the work
  • Collegiality and loyalty
  • Commitment and willingness to work independently and on your own responsibility

For this position in job group IIIa, a minimum gross salary of € 2.699 per month (14 times)* is stipulated in the collective agreement. Your actual starting salary will depend on your previous experience and will increase over the course of your employment.
