BA Political Science § 5 (1) 9.b Political Communication and Electoral Analysis - Introductory Level (2/ 5)

Students acquire the ability to demonstrate and explain the behaviour of voters, political parties and the media in democracies theory-driven and with empirical findings. They know how to explain the function of political communication and the logics of media-centred democracy.

The proseminar provides an introduction to topics, theories and methods on political communication and election research. A special focus is placed on the communication of political parties. Students learn about theories and concepts on the communication of political parties. Furthermore, methods to study these theories and concepts will be presented and discussed.
