This seminar focuses on recent developments in the field of security studies. After introducing the students to traditional approaches, the main part of the seminar will focus on theories and methods of so-called critical security studies. In addition to giving an in-depth overview of different theories, methods and cases, the seminar seeks to make students familiar with the process of planning and implementing a small research project.

Please note that the seminar will be held in English. Depending on the language proficiency of indivdual students, the final paper can be written in English or German.
