After successfully finishing this course students

- are able to reflect their research ideas in the light of general requirements and standards for dissertations;

- are prepared to write a successful dissertation proposal;

- can competently identify and distinguish methodological positions in social sciences and economics;

- are able to discuss and evaluate the implications of the methodological positions for their own PhD research project.

This course is the introductory course in the PhD programme. Passing this course is prerequisite for most other courses in the PhD programme.

Please also note that this course requires your regular attendance in class.
