In the course, students will focus on expanding their knowledge of English terms and expressions used in technical texts. Students will also learn about the basic concepts necessary for high-quality specialised translations related to technology, e.g. expert knowledge of the translation issue at hand, excellent general education, consistent terminology usage, text type conventions, and an outstanding knowledge of technical terms and expressions in their native language.
- Translation of specialized texts using modern translation technologies and familiarization with specialized terminology and phraseology
- Revision and correction of texts using consultation material
- (if necessary) exercises to improve grammatical precision, vocabulary and punctuation
- (if necessary) pricing, writing offers and invoices
- SS 2024: thematic focus on generative artificial intelligence, especially in the language service industry
- Individual translations
- Group translations
- Translation analysis
- Translation techniques and transfer strategies
- Text revision

- Evaluation of different translation suggestions
