Acquisition of the necessary skills to be able to translate texts in the field of economics (from Italian to German), such as building up background knowledge and terminology and capability of determining different text conventions in source and target language
Translation of technical texts on economics and business from Italian into German; use of correct technical terminology; analysis of parallel texts; compilation of a glossary
interactive approach (discussing student's translations, working with parallel texts, building up basic knowledge of terminology)
written homework (30%), written final exam (70%)
Will be outlined in course.
participants must be enrolled in one of the master's degree programmes in translation studies
