707702 VU Atmosphärische Strahlungsprozesse und Fernerkundung
Wintersemester 2025/2026 | Stand: 16.10.2025 | LV auf Merkliste setzenThe course will give an overview of electromagnetic radiation and it's interaction with the atmosphere. This includes aspects of radiative transfer, atmospheric optics and remote sensing applications. We will also discuss remote sensing methods for atmospheric research and meteorology from ground, airborne and spaceborne platforms.
1. Theory of electromagnetic radiation
2. Interaction of EM with the atmosphere
3. Remote sensing applications
Vorlesung mit Übung
combined test ('VU: Immanenter Pruefungscharakter')
Physical principles of remote sensing, Rees.
Atmospheric science. Wallace and Hobbs.
If you want to take that course but are in a Masters or PhD program for which the registration system does not let you sign up but think that you have the prerequisites to successfully pass the course, please contact the instructor directly.
The lecture will start on Oct 13 25 and will be partially blocked as a combined format (Vorlesung und Übung). It will be blocked and (depending on enrollment) potentially pooled into two groups depending on the number of students. Expect also to do group work/homework. Parts of the lecture will also be live streamed. All information will also be communicated via OLAT. On the first lecture date all further organisational items will be discussed.
