Students will be able to
master organic-chemical work on a laboratory scale, including the application of in-depth organic-chemical work techniques that build on the practical course "Basic organic-chemical operations";
carry out esterifications, hydrolysis, condensations, electrophilic substitutions on aromatics as well as oxidation and reduction reactions;
carry out thin-layer chromatographic reaction control and column chromatographic product purification and control products by means of mass spectrometric and NMR spectroscopic product characterization.
Advanced organic-chemical working techniques based on the practical course "Basic organic-chemical operations"; thin-layer chromatographic reaction control; column chromatographic product purification; mass spectrometric and NMR spectroscopic product characterization. In experiments lasting several days, esterifications, hydrolysis, condensations, electrophilic substitutions on aromatics, oxidation and reduction reactions are carried out.
Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).
Course examination according statute section on "study-law regulations"
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
The internship takes place from
Course A: 17.03.2025 to 31.03.2025
Course B: 19.05.2025 to 04.06.2025
Mon-Fri 10:00-17:00.
Registrations are required by 21.02.2025!
"Due to the substantially different allocation of ECTS credits in the BA Chemistry program according to the Curriculum 2023 and the BA Chemistry program according to the Curriculum 2008, there are different requirements for this course. You will receive information on this from the course instructor at the start of the course."
