Listening/Speaking I A

General module objectives: To ensure that students have CEFR B2 level in listening and speaking skills. Listening skills objectives: To promote receptive listening skills with particular stress on understanding gist and detail. Speaking skills objectives: To promote oral skills and highlight problem areas in pronunciation, intonation, stress, grammar, vocabulary, fluency and oral communicative skills.

Listening content: Pronunciation, a variety of texts on areas pertaining to English and American Studies, including literature, cultural, linguistic, media studies etc. Speaking content: Descriptive treatment of the above topics.

Communicative, interactive approach. Individual tutorials will also be offered.

Aural and oral final exam.
