Reading: To further advance students’ skills of close and analytical reading as well as text interpretation. Writing: To further promote the conventions of effective writing focussing on language, content and structure.

Reading: A variety of sophisticated texts on current topics. Writing: Proceeding from a paragraph to full texts, writing of letters, further improvement of summary skills.

Reading: Critical appraisal of various text types. Writing: Critical in-class analysis of student writing.

Module assessment: Course work assessment: regular written assignments. (50%) Exam: written test of reading and writing skills. (50%)
