Learning Outcome:

Student acquire enhanced knowledge of selected issues of international politics with the help of specific examples.

Contents:

Introduction into the basics of foreign policy analysis.

Overview: (1) the agency- structure problem in international relations, (2) decision making in foreign affairs and safety politics on personal (3) or on group level (4) influence of the international system over the foreign affairs (5) cornerstone of foreign affairs and safety politics in the USA.

Methods:

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
