Reflection of different epistemological concepts> Research logics, "premises of the research, terminologies, methods, goals of their own and of other discipline (s). Implementation of these reflections in the context of their own scientific work (dissertation, master's thesis)
In the summerterm of 2014 the lecture series “Die Grenzen meiner Wissenschaft – die Grenzen meiner Welt? Ein interdisziplinäres Forschungsforum der Universität Innsbruck” incorporates several disciplines of the University of Innsbruck on ten evenings. Two lecturers of two different faculties are going to present their discipline’s concerns in short speeches of twenty minutes (including motivation, cognitive interests etc.). Afterwards the mediation of a “discipline’s language” is going to be discussed in the plenum under the moderation of one lecture series’ organizer. The contributors to the lecture series will discuss the benefit of their disciplines, which should not be confused with a question of economic profit or social relevance. On the contrary – the answer to the question of why someone is researching will result in statements about the discipline’s/person’s concerns and their comprehension(s) of reality.
Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
