Detailed overview on different aspects in applied aquatic ecology.

Contents:

The lectures includes the following topics in applied ecology of lakes and groundwater systems

Groundwater: Use and overexploitation, vulnerability, contamination, remediation strategies, monitoring and assessment strategies incl. the Water Framework Directive.

Lakes: Use, eutrophication, restoration and sanitation, case studies "Lake Constance" and "Old Danube", restoration of acidic mining lakes.
