Revision and practical application of relevant general and subject-specific working techniques: researching, referencing as well as planning, writing and presenting an academic paper.

The Revolt of the Low Countries in the 16th century were responsible for the founding of the Dutch Republic. In this class reasons, progress and impact of this event will be discussed. We will have a detailed look on politics, religious belief and military reforms of these times.

Course with continuous performance assessment: compulsory attendance, readings and short assignment, oral presentation, pre-seminar paper, active participation
