winter semester 2015/2016 | Last update: 27.11.2015 | Place course on memo listThe students have knowledge about the most important approaches in gender studies and feminist theory, they are able to classify and explain them. They know examples of relevant current research works, selected results of empirical gender specific research as well as main the concepts and perspectives in their own discipline. They are able to connect gender with other scientific perspectives such as as sexuality, nationality, class and race.
The lecture provides an survey of different approaches and perspectives of gender studies. Social and cultural gender relations are discussed.

As compensation for the reduced (omitted) presence units of the lecture the students have the possibility to get feedback to their choosen exam texts by mail (sabine.prokop@uibk.ac.at), if they send their texts with marked and commented keywords they plan to analyze in consideration of whatever they think to be appropriate (based on the papers and the content of the lectures).
