Students are capable of using special problems of basic research for independent exploration of psychological literature and analysis of psychological problems.

The development of modern brain science, especially in the 1990s led to a reawakening of interest in the exploration of human consciousness. Starting with an overview of current approaches to consciousness research multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary, empirical and theoretical studies in the seminar are discussed in detail. Issues, methods and results of different research approaches will be accurately compared and discussed. Finally, it should be clarified whether in the context of brain science concepts an integrative approach to consciousness research is possible.

Seminar with interactive work in small groups; papers and discussion of topics in plenary; final seminar paper.

Examinations using continuous assessment based on regular written and oral contributions from the participants.

Scientific papers will be announced in the seminar.
