720060 Advanced Seminar: Psychology-Based Work Design and Organization Development
summer semester 2016 | Last update: 06.03.2023 | Place course on memo listStudents will learn to apply both theoretical and empirical knowledge from work and organizational psychology. They will be able to reflect their own experiences related to working processes and working conditions ( e.g. in ferial jobs, during practica or at any other previous work place).
The lectures and exercises will focus on criteria and concepts to analyze and to improve working conditions and labour relations. Concepts that will be presented and discussed are e.g. semi-autonomous group work, work in projects, process-oriented teamwork.
The lecturer will offer his practical experince of more than 20 years as a consultant and coach in the field of applied psychology and change management. There will be a continous change between interactive lectures and task-related work in small project teams formed by 3 - 4 students. The small projekt teams will analyze and optimize the working conditions in a case study that derives from theirs own work experiences.
There are three contributions required to fulfill the assessment criteria: the projekt work to be done in the respective team of 3-4 students between session 1 and session 2 (40%), the presentation of this project work given by the team during session 2 (40%) and the consequences drawn by the project team after the feedback received during this presentation (20%).
