Introduction to translation processes, techniques and practice. With an emphasis on translation practice and focusing on a broad-minded approach to translation, students will translate texts of diverse genres and deal with specific topics. Additionally, text type conventions, research methods and resources, team and group work, and language skills are integral components of this course.

Practical introduction to the basic principles, techniques and processes of translation through translation of texts of diverse genres and covering specific topics, whilst applying methods, techniques and resources required for such tasks.

Interactive practice-orientated lessons. Students will produce content-focused translations of texts based on targeted analysis, comparison and research.

Continuous assessment, two homework assignments, two tests.
